Summer Reading 2022: Beyond the Beaten Path     There’s still time to sign-up for our Summer Reading incentive program, children and teens, birth - age 14. Last day is July 16! Participants receive a book bag for their family and a reading record with stickers to keep track of reading over the summer. Program finishers receive a free book, a small prize, and tickets for our grand prize drawings. We also have a hidden picture in the Library each week. Find it and enter our weekly prize drawing!

Oregon Shadow Theater presents “Jack and the Dragon”

Tuesday, July 19, 6:30 pm @ the Vernonia Grange, 425 North St.

A shadow puppet play based on an Appalachian fairy tale. Colorful shadow puppets, live old time American banjo and dulcimer music!

Friends of the Library Jamboree Booksale @ the Cabin in Vernonia

Proceeds benefit Library programs and services! In addition to a wide selection of books, audiobooks, and DVDS, there will be raffles for different prizes, $1 a ticket!

Creatures Teachers

Fostering an appreciation for all wildlife, including under-loved and misunderstood creatures like snakes and spiders, this event features new creatures for those who attended this program in Summer 2021.

Stories, movement activities, and crafts. Themes vary each week, including: Zoo, Space, Bears, Fire Safety, Bugs, Lego, and more! Older siblings and kids welcome.

Writers’ Group

1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, July 7 and July 21, 6-7:30 pm

For adult and teen writers with all levels of experience. Writing prompts, opportunity to share current work for feedback, and information on local opportunities for writers.
