Loggers Host Playoff Game Tonight

VHSBBBClaySullivanThe Vernonia Loggers will host a District Playoff game tonight, February 19, at 7:00 PM with a spot in the state playoffs on the line.

The Loggers, seeded #2 in the district playoffs  will face off against the #3 Nestucca Bobcats in a rematch of the final regular season game, which the Loggers won handily 58-26.  The Loggers dominated the Wildcats in that earlier victory, racing out to a 31-6 halftime lead and never looking back. Earlier in the season the Loggers lost to Nestucca 56-49

The Loggers finished their Northwest League season in second place with a 10-4 record.  A win against Nestucca on Thursday guarantees the Loggers a place in the state playoffs and a game against top seeded Kanppa on Saturday, February 21 in Forest Grove.

The loser of the Vernonia vs. Nestucca game still has a chance to make the state playoffs and would face off against the winner of the District #4 vs. #5 game for the third and final district spot in state.

The Vernonia Lady Loggers basketball team won the Northwest League title, going undefeated with a 12-0 league record and are the #1 seed in the District playoffs.  The Lady Loggers will play for the district title on Saturday at Forest Grove.
