The Vernonia Lady loggers got 10 strikeouts from Kassidy Fetch in a 5-1 win over Portland Christian on Monday May 12.
Portland Christian couldn’t get anything going as long as Fetch was pitching. Portland Christian managed just one hit off of the Lady Loggers’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out 10 during her seven innings of work.
Pearl Cook racked up two RBIs on two hits for Lady Loggers. She singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.
The lone run of the game for Portland Christian crossed the plate in the first inning on an error.
The lead stayed with Lady Loggers after the first, when it scored two runs on a sacrifice fly by Sara Smith and an RBI single by Cook.
Lady Loggers increased its lead with two runs in the fourth. A error scored Jerrian Pond to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Payton Wolf’s single, plating Tori Dalebroux
