Vernonia’s Kassidy Fetch threw a no-hitter in the Lady Loggers 21-0 victory over Neah-Kah-Nie on Tuesday, May 6, then did it again on Saturday, May 10, as the Lady Loggers defeated Neah-Kah-Nie 29-0. The Lady Loggers swept the three game series; Payton Wolf was the winning pitcher for the Lady Loggers in the final game, a 20-2 victory.
Fetch was dominant in both games, as she struck out 10 batters and walked two in the first game and then struck out eight batters and walked none while recording her two no-hitters.
An RBI single by Pearl Cook, a solo home run by Payton Wolf, an RBI double by Sara Smith, an RBI double by Paige Smith all in the second inning supplied the early offense for Lady Loggers in the 21-0 win. The Lady Loggers easily handled Neah-Kah-Nie pitching as seven hitters combined for 13 hits, eight RBIs and 19 runs scored.
In their 29-0 win Fetch racked up seven RBIs on five hits for Lady Loggers. She doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first, third, and fourth innings. Payton Wolf added a two run home run.
In the final game of the series Wolf pitched and struck out seven, allowing no earned runs on three hits and five walks over five innings.
Wolf helped her own cause at the plate with four hits and two RBI’s. She tripled in the first inning and singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.
