Lady Loggers Roll Over Delphian, Boys Win But Are Eliminated From Playoffs

The Vernonia Lady Loggers easily handled Delphian, winning 79-30 on Friday, February 14th.  It was Vernonia’s 21st win of the season, with only one loss,  as they remained undefeated in Northwest League play with a 15-0 record.

The Lady Loggers have clinched their second straight regular season league title and an automatic spot in the State Playoffs.  League playoffs start February 20th following the Lady Loggers final game of the season on Saturday, February 15 at Neah-Kah-Nie.  The Lady Loggers will have a bye in the first two rounds of the League Playoffs, and will only play in the Championship Game on Saturday, February 22nd at Portland State University.  If the Lady Loggers win the League Playoff, they will automatically host a home game in the state playoff first round.  The first round of the state playoffs is scheduled for Friday, February 28th.

The Vernonia boys defeated Delphian 61-46 on Friday February 14th, but were eliminated from playoff contention.  The Loggers are now 6-9 in Northwest League play and are 9-13 on the season.  The Loggers finish their season on Saturday, February 15 at Neah-Kah-Nie.
