Application Process Begins for Prospective Homeowners

June 21st marks the start of the application process for families or individuals that want to be considered for buying an affordable home through Columbia County Habitat for Humanity. The required orientation/application meeting will be held June 21st at 7:00 PM at Community Action Team located at 125 N. 17th Street, St. Helens. The orientation meeting will outline the family selection criteria and process. Applications will only be distributed at this meeting. Those interested in applying for a home are urged to attend.

The opportunity to apply for homeownership is open to anyone in Columbia County, however the homes currently being built are located in St. Helens.  Columbia County Habitat for Humanity offers 0% loans and affordable monthly payments, which make homeownership attainable for low-income families. The selected partner family will be required to volunteer 300 to 500 hours during the construction of their home. CCHFH is seeking applicants that earn 25 to 50 percent of the median income for the county; have a reliable source of income; and are willing to take on the responsibility of homeownership.
