The 4th Annual Jr. Salmon Auction was held on May 17th at the Vernonia Schools Commons.JrSalmonStage-web
Presented by Hands-On Art, the evening was a fundraiser for arts programs in the Vernonia Schools and the community.

Each year Vernonia high school art students decorate wooden cut outs of salmon, creating individual pieces of art, which are auctioned off to raise funds for their program.  Students also decorate pieces of furniture for the auction.JrSalmonChair-web

This year Robb Wilson took the podium as the auctioneer assisted by Kathy Dalebroux.

The event raised almost $2,000, the majority of which goes directly to school art programs.

Entertainment was provided by two members of the VHS Band, Nate Izzett and Jacob Medearis; the two were joined  by Vernonia Band Director Rob Izzett who played trombone for one number.

The Vernonia Boosters sold desserts as a fundraiser and other student art was on display during the evening.
